Christie’s May 4 Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale achieved a total of 5548000. The auction was highlighted by the runaway success of Pablo Picasso’s Nude, Green Leaves and Bust from the Collection of Mrs. Sidney F. Brody, which sold for a record 6482500, breaking the previous world record for any work of art sold at auction. The Evening Sale portion of the Brody Collection also achieved the highest total for a single-owner sale offered at Christies New York, surpassing the landmark sale of the Collection of Victor and Sally Ganz in 1997.

Off with their heads!!! It’s time for an Art Auction. I painted these for my first gallery show a few months ago and they’ve been sitting in my closet since then. Some of you have asked if I sell my art so I decided this would be a great way to start. It’s time for them to find a good home and be enjoyed as they were intended to be. As you can see from the auction photos, the paintings are very detailed and were painted in the Grisaille technique (basically underpainting in black and white and glazing over with oil colors).
